99 Butterflies, a deeply personal work by Asad, explores the experience of displacement
through intricate stone butterflies, each one a symbol of resilience and renewal. Inspired by
the words of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish – “Where will we go after the last
frontiers? Where will the birds fly after the last sky?”– the installation gives form to the
search for belonging, mirroring the fate of those uprooted by conflict.
